EghtesadOnline: Iran's Economy Minister Ali Tayebnia and German vice chancellor, Economy and Energy Minister Sigmar Gabriel discussed mutual ties in a meeting in Tehran.
Sigmar Gabriel has promised to press Washington loosen its economic restrictions on Iran, as it promised to do as part of last year’s nuclear deal.
According to ISNA, he made the remarks in a public speech in Tehran, where he stated that Germany intends to "remind the United States of the commitment to get to an effective dismantling of sanctions."
German high-ranking official said, “Washington should act on its responsibilities concerning Iran”
For its part, Germany said it planned to sign 10 key deals, and boost economic turnover with Iran by €2.5 billion, as a result of the visit, during which 120 senior business leaders joined Gabriel.
Tehran said there could be no precondition for Iran-Germany relations and that it rejected the interference of any third party in its state affairs.
Gabriel made his second visit to Tehran since the country reached a deal with world powers in July last year to lift economic sanctions imposed on Iran over its nuclear program.
