EghtesadOnline: The foreign ministry's media diplomacy directorate general announced that the most important achievement of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif's visit to Turkey was Tehran-Ankara agreement on halting fighting in Syria.
It said that Zarif's visit to Ankara, Iran and Turkey agreed to bring to a halt the fighting in Syria which was an important achievement of Zarif's short visit to Turkey.
The two sides also agreed to cooperate on sending humanitarian aids to Syria, according to IRNA.
Zarif on Wednesday conferred with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım on issues of mutual interests and the regional and international developments.
Earlier on Wednesday, Zarif conferred with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu on both regional and bilateral questions.
The two sides held talks behind the closed doors, but it is said that Zarif and Cavusoglu have reviewed the important regional issues, Syrian crisis in particular.
Zarif arrived in Ankara early on Wednesday on his way back home from New York, the United States, where he attended the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly as a member of the Iranian delegation.
Today meeting is the third being held between the Iranian and Turkish foreign ministers within the past two months.
Zarif arrived in Ankara in a stop-over from New York and in a three-hour meeting with Turkish premier exchanged views on regional developments.
Turkish media have fully covered Zarif's visit to Turkey, some saying that the visit was unexpected.
The meeting was held behind closed doors.
