EghtesadOnline: Businessmen from the Italian region of Marche signed some 12 memoranda of understanding with Mazandaran province, provincial official said on Sunday.

Deputy Governor General for Coordinating Economic Affairs and Development of Resources Hassan Kheirianpour told IRNA Sunday that exchanging health tourists, investment in tourism infrastructure projects, holding handicrafts exhibitions in Marche, boosting cooperation in the fields of agriculture and industry are among the major items of the deals signed by the two sides.

Based on a deal, types of garden products, protein materials, dairy products and herbal medicine will be exported from Mazandaran to Marche.

He further noted that governors general of Mazandaran and Marche agreed on promoting academic cooperation including exchanging instructors and students in technical, engineering and medical fields.

Facilitating customs regulations and preferential tariffs, issuance of visa and permit for joint venture investment by the two provinces' tradesmen are among the other areas of cooperation enshrined in the MoUs, Kheirianpour said.

Referring to the agreement of sisterhood between Sari and Ancona, capital of Marche, he maintained that it will help promote ties between the two provinces.

Marche economic, commercial and scientific delegation comprising directors and representatives of 46 production, industrial, commercial and banking companies arrived in Sari on July 11.

Marche governor general and accompanying delegation visited a number of Mazandaran economic and industrial projects during their three-day stay in the province.

Following the implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) last year, over 12 foreign delegations from Russia, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, Canada, Greece an France have so far visited the province.
