EghtesadOnline: Iranian Navy Commander Habibollah Sayyari said that it is necessary for Iran’s strategic navy force to have presence in high seas.

He said that sending flotilla to high seas aims at showing potential of Iran’s strategic navy force, because such a force is required to have presence in high seas, ISNA reports.

The move also shows power of the Islamic Republic of Iran in navigation, Sayyari said.

He reiterated that Iranian Navy would be present whenever necessary, “And we will show that it is an international, political and military Navy.”

The 42nd Flotilla of the Islamic Republic of Iran left for Indian Ocean and Bab el-Mandeb on Monday.
