EghtesadOnline: The Sixth Omani Products Expo (OPEX) will be held in Tehran from September 26-30.
According to Iran-Oman Joint Chamber's Public Relations Department, holding the event was finalized in a session in March 2016 attended by the Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi and Minister of Trade and Industry Masuad Al-Senidi.
Head of Iran-Oman Chamber Mohsen Zarrabi said that organizing face to face meetings between the two countries' tradesmen and investors are among the peripheral programs of the exhibition, reports IRNA.
First coordination meeting on the expo was held in Waljat University in Muscat on August 23, which was warmly welcomed by the Omani tradesmen and industrialists.
A detailed explanation on the Iranian market and advantages of participation in the upcoming exhibition its peripheral programs was presented during the meeting, he said, noting that a similar meeting on the event will also be held in Tehran.
He said that Iranian activists interested to develop ties with Oman will get acquainted with the country's economic capacities.
The official further noted that seven Omani economic delegations visited Iran last year, the biggest of which, comprising 57 Omani firms, held talks with 200 great Iranian companies.
Meanwhile, three Iranian economic delegations visited Oman, which paved the way for joint investment in both countries, he said.
Iran with a population of 80 million is a big and dynamic market, he said, adding that the neighboring states with of over 400 million population have also made Iran a major target for the Omani economic activists.
Zarrabi said that holding the exhibition should be considered a very important event, as it is being held under a situation that Omani firms attach special attention to development of industrial, commercial ties and investment with their Iranian counterparts.
He said that Iran-Oman trade has risen up to one billion dollars from 200 million dollars in 2006.
