EghtesadOnline: President Hassan Rouhani said in a phone conversation with UK Prime Minister Theresa May on Tuesday that Iran welcomes enhanced ties with the United Kingdom.
In the telephone conversation, President Rouhani called for speeding up implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, expansion of economic, banking and insurance ties and international cooperation, according to IRNA.
President Rouhani congratulated the British prime minister on taking office.
Rouhani emphasized the need for collective action of the international community to fight menaces of terrorism.
UK prime minister reaffirmed commitment of the British government to implementation of JCPOA.
She said that the British government would do its best to implement the international agreement on nuclear dispute and that the incumbent UK administration is encouraging the the European and British banks to develop ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Theresa May said that the Iranian and British foreign ministers are working to enhance level of diplomatic relations.
