EghtesadOnline: Pakistan embassy’s advisor for economic affairs in Tehran Nazr Mohammed Ranjha voiced his country’s interest in purchasing power from Iran.

Talking to IRNA here in the west of the country on Tuesday, he said Pakistan is seeking cooperation with Iran in oil and electricity sectors.

He said Pakistan wants to buy 300 megawatts of energy from Iran.

He also voiced his country’s readiness to increase trade with Iran and said Islamabad had already talks with Iran on the issue.

Noting that the volume of trade between the two countries amounts almost to 5 million dollars, the official said the Iranian and Pakistani officials have expressed regret over the low figure during their meetings.

He said both presidents stressed that the volume has to grow.
