EghtesadOnline: Chairman of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture Gholam Hossein Shafei has said that Tehran and New Delhi can raise their trade exchange to 30 billion dollars in a long term period.

Addressing India-Iran Business Round Table here on Saturday, Shafei said the current level of trade between the two countries is not satisfying.

Shafei, who is leading Iran's economic delegation to India, said that establishment of an industrial park in the southeastern Iranian port city of Chabahar will be an effective step towards trade development in Iran-India relations, according to IRNA.

Iran enjoying large energy reserves can be a reliable partner for India to provide energy for that country, Shafei noted.

Shafei further referred to the issue of transit as another area of cooperation between the two countries.

Iran, Afghanistan and India signed a trilateral agreement on development of Chabahar port in late May in Tehran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, along with a 70-member delegation, arrived here Saturday morning to take part in the Heart of Asia Conference that kicked off today (Dec 3).

Also, India-Iran Business Round Table was held in the presence of Zarif and economic and industrial officials of the two countries in the Indian capital this morning.
