EghtesadOnline: Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian left Tehran for Tokyo Thursday morning to attend the 27th Meeting of the Energy Charter Conference.
During his four-day visit to Japan, he is scheduled to discuss issues of mutual interest with the Japanese Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Keiichi Ishii and Minister for Foreign Affairs Fumio Kishida.
He will also sign a draft document for Iran to joining the world charter, IRNA reported.
Energy minister is also slated to visit Yokohama Smart City Project (YSCP) and the city's sewage treatment plant during his stay in the country.
Energy Charter Conference's main objective is better reflection of new realities in the energy sector, especially energy growth in developing countries and cooperation of the participating countries in line with development and countering common challenges in the energy sector.
