EghtesadOnline: Hamedan’s goods and services Consumer Price Index registered a year-on-year increase of 23.2% during the Iranian month of Mordad (July 23-Aug. 22) compared with the similar month of last year—the highest among all provinces in Iran.

The CPI increase was the lowest for Hormozgan with 14.7% YOY, the Statistical Center of Iran reported.  

The overall goods and services CPI in Iran registered a YOY increase of 19.3% compared with the similar month of last year, according to SCI.

The overall CPI (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) stood at 127.7 in Mordad, indicating a 5.2% rise compared with the previous month, according to Financial Tribune.

The growth in the overall CPI compared with the previous month, Tir (June 22-July 22), was the highest (9.5%) for Kohgilouyeh-Boyerahmad Province and lowest (4%) for Mazandaran Province.   

The average goods and services CPI in Iran for the 12-month period ending Aug. 22, increased by 9.7% compared with last year’s corresponding period. 

Kermanshah registered the highest 12-month inflation with 12.5% while Bushehr and Sistan-Baluchestan posted the lowest 12-month inflation of 7.4%. 

The SCI report came before the Central Bank of Iran put inflation for the same average 12-month period ending August 22 at 11.5%.

According to CBI, the overall CPI (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) stood at 133.8 in Mordad, indicating a 5.5% increase compared with the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 24.2% compared with the similar month of last year.
