EghtesadOnline: More than 129,600 tons of almonds were produced in Iran in the last Iranian year (March 2017-18) around 4,800 tons of which were exported, Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture reported.

The report cites data released by the Statistical Center of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.

Turkey, India and Germany with 3,200, 1,300 and 119 tons of purchases respectively were Iran’s top three export destinations for the product over the period.

Almonds were cultivated on over 51,000 hectares of orchards across the country last year with the provinces of Kerman in the southeast and Markazi and Qazvin in the northwest being the biggest producers, according to Financial Tribune.
