EghtesadOnline: Ukraine and Iran are interested in deepening bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector, particularly for increasing supplies of grains, vegetable oil, corn, barley and soybeans for meeting domestic needs.
This was stated during a meeting of Deputy Agrarian Policy and Food Minister of Ukraine Viktor Sheremet with the Iranian delegation, the ministry’s press service reported.
“Iran is an important trading partner of Ukraine, although, unfortunately, there has been a decrease in bilateral trade in the last few years. Today, Ukraine is ready to increase supplies and expand the range of agricultural exports to Iran,” Sheremeta said.
The Iranian side expressed its intention to buy Ukrainian agricultural products worth $1.5 billion and suggested facilitating exports to promote trade potential between the two countries, Financial Tribune reported.
Iran is interested in increasing imports of Ukrainian agricultural products and expanding the product group, especially that of vegetable oils and soybeans, Blackseagrain.net reported.
