EghtesadOnline: Renowned Iranian economist Fereydoun Tafazzoli, professor of economy at Tehran’s Shaid Beheshti University, passed away in Canada on Monday.

The seasoned scholar had a bachelor’s degree from California State University and a Master’s and PhD from the University of Southern California. He was the student of Milton Friedman, American economist and recipient of the 1976 Nobel Memorial Prize in economic sciences and the well-known Joseph Alois Schumpeter, Austrian-born American political economist and professor at Harvard University.

Tafazzoli has left a legacy of books and articles behind, including “The History of Economic Beliefs” and “Macro-Economy”, both of which are considered classic university textbooks, according to Financial Tribune.
