EghtesadOnline: More than 405,000 tons of cargo were transited via Iranian railroads during the first four months of the current fiscal year (March 21-July 22), indicating a 44% rise compared with the similar period of previous year, Ebrahim Mohammadi, an official with the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, said.

“Sulfur and fertilizers were the main commodities transited during the period. Sarakhs border crossing on Iran-Turkmenistan border and Razi border crossing on the Turkish border were the main portals from where the transit flowed,” he added. Cargoes transported from southern Iranian ports and Turkey to Central Asia currently hold the biggest share in Iran’s rail transit, the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development’s news service reported.
