EghtesadOnline: An international petrochemical conference is scheduled to be held in Tehran on November 26-27, bringing together some of the world's biggest companies to learn about opportunities in Iran's lucrative petrochemical sector.
The two-day conference is focused on exploring financing methods for petrochem ventures, transferring cutting-edge know-how in the field and introducing investors to opportunities in the Iranian petrochemical industry. Representatives of top European and Asian companies, including from Italy, Germany, Spain, the UK, France, China, India, Singapore and Qatar, are slated to attend the conference. Tehran says the petrochemical industry, its most important economic sector after oil and gas, requires more than $70 billion in investment in the next several years, most of which should come from foreign sources. The oil- and gas-rich nation aims to augment its petrochemical production capacity over the next decade to offer products with higher value-added, according to Financial Tribune.
