EghtesadOnline: The Shiraz Auto Exhibition opened on Tuesday at the Fars International Permanent Fairground, hosting a large number of local and foreign automakers and importers.

Carmakers will unveil their latest products at one of the most important automotive events in the south of the country, local auto website Asbe Bokhar reported.

Kerman Motor, a local automaker and the official representative of China’s JAC, announced that it will launch the presale of the new JAC S3 during the expo.

S3, a small sports utility vehicle is the “little brother” of the already released JAC S5, which is assembled and sold by Kerman Motor, according to Financial Tribune.

Shiraz Auto Show hosts big local names in the auto sector every year and often shows new vehicles before other cities.

Well-know firms like Iran Khodro, Bahman Group, Bam Khodro and Kerman Motors are attending.

The lifting of international sanctions has opened the way for investment and foreign carmakers hope to gain a firm foothold in the country’s booming automobile sector.

Chinese car companies have the first-mover advantage, but they are facing competition from German, French, South Korean and Japanese manufacturers who are gradually  entering the market after several years hiatus.

The event will end on July 21. Those interested can visit the website at http://www.farsfair.ir/.
