EghtesadOnline: Iran’s ‘invention squad’ collected 13 gold, silver and bronze medals at the 28th International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX) which concluded in Malaysia on May 13.

The 15 young Iranian inventors won six gold, six silver and two bronze medals at the event, Mehr News Agency reported.

Gold winners were awarded for their innovations in: nano filter installation on a bottle of mineral water orifice and physical filtration; design and prototype of advanced bicycle system; design and prototype of one-time (disposable) power banks used in portable electronic devices; and a pair of ‘smart eye glasses.’

Silver was given to the Iranians for: design and prototyping system of automatic pay toll on highways; design and prototype of thermal power generation systems and reducing vehicle fuel consumption; producing ‘smart rubber’ resistant to heat and fraction; and pollutant-absorbent filters for factories. The ‘smart wallet’ and ‘ventilation systems protect health’ projects succeeded in snatching two bronze medals, Financial Tribune reported.

ITEX is one of the largest annual exhibitions on inventions. This year, more than 850 inventors from 25 countries participated in the expo’s scientific and technical programs.
