EghtesadOnline: Petroleum Minister Deputy for International and Commercial Affairs announced German company Linde is ready for direct investment in Iran’s petrochemical industry.
On his talks with directors of the company on the sidelines of the 13th Conference of Iran Petrochemical on Sunday, Amir Hossein Zamani-Nia said that the German firm is prepared for cooperation with Iran in multiple petrochemical projects and good negotiations were held in this respect.
Ways of financing Iranian petrochemical projects with Linde are currently under scrutiny, he said, noting that they believed that although European banks are wary of involvement in the Iranian projects, there are other ways for financing the projects, according to IRNA.
Zamnai-Nia also declared Linde’s directors talks with the Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh, saying that the company has also expressed willingness to participate in Iran’s LNG project.
Directors of Linde also conferred with managing director of the National Petrochemical Industries Company (NPC), and they expressed their interest to transfer technical know-how and capital to Iran.
During the meeting, Linde’s mode of investment in Damavand Petrochemical Project and several methanol projects were among the major topics of discussions between Linde representatives and Iranian officials.
Linde’s representative office in Tehran resumed its activities in a ceremony attended by German vice chancellor and foreign minister in October, 2016.
