EghtesadOnline: Iran Mercantile Exchange witnessed the trading of 33 million tons of commodities worth over $21.5 billion in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2017), registering a 26% and 73% growth in trade volume and value respectively.

IME's Financial Market made up $11.73 billion and its physical market accounted for $9.76 billion of the exchange's total annual trade value.

Oil and petrochemical products had the highest share of both trade volume and value, as 13 million tons worth $4.84 billion were traded, followed by mineral products with 9 million tons worth $4.07 billion, agricultural products with 2.5 million tons worth $713.28 million and exports with 5.74 million tons worth $789,473. Founded in 2006, IME trades in commodities in the spot and futures markets, Financial Tribune reported.
